The Failed Obama Presidency

Maggie Michael of the Associated Press has written an article claiming an ex-Gitmo detainee has joined al-Qaida in Yemen.  Keep reading, however, and you’ll find this interesting tidbit:

The announcement, made this week on a Web site commonly used by militants, came as President Barack Obama ordered the detention facility closed within a year.

The Internet statement, which could not immediately be verified, said al-Shihri was the group’s second-in-command in Yemen, and his prisoner number at Guantanamo was 372.

If Michael couldn’t verify the statement, WHY is she printing this?  And it should be noted that this prisoner was released under the Bush watch.

Just sayin’.
