McCain Campaign Clears Palin!

Posted in Politics with tags , , on October 9, 2008 by gyma

Wow!  MSNBC is reporting tonight that the McCain campaign has released a pre-emptive report exonerating Palin from any wrongdoing in the firing of Walt Monegan.  Get that?  The McCain campaign believes it can simply release a report the night before the State of Alaska is scheduled to release its findings on the ethics charges currently pending against Palin.

Who do these people think they are?  I hope the report released tomorrow is absolutely devastating and lasts for 3-4 news cycles.  Will serve them right.

And has anyone else noticed how often Palin wears that huge, diamond-studded ALASKA pin?  Isn’t that unpatriotic, especially considering her ties with the Alaskan Independence Party?

You’re Fired!

This should go over well with Alaskans.  Apparently having the McCain campaign make all your announcements for you isn’t enough for Gov. Palin.

The Anchorage Daily News is reporting today that attorneys with the McCain campaign are negotiating with the state Personnel Board to have Palin participate in a separate inquiry into “Troopergate.”

Here’s the kicker:

Less than a week after balking at the Legislature’s investigation into her alleged abuse of power, Gov. Sarah Palin on Monday indicated she will cooperate with a separate probe run by people she can fire.[…]

I feel better already.  For awhile there I was worried Gov. Palin had something to hide.

McCarthyistic Inquisition?

Joe McCarthy

Sen. Joe McCarthy

Sarah Palin

Gov. Sarah Palin

What do these two people have in common?  Well, apparently five Republican state lawmakers have filed a suit to either postpone the “Troopergate” investigation until after the election or have Sen. Kim Elton and Sen. Hollis French, both Democrats, removed from the investigation.  These lawmakers are referring to this investigation, with which Gov. Palin agreed to fully cooperate prior to being named McCain’s running mate, as a “McCarthyistic” inquisition.

If Gov. Palin has nothing to hide, why won’t she cooperate until after  the election?  The Anchorage Daily News has more.
