Let’s hope President Obama can lead us back to greatness.  I’m very hopeful.  Available here.

Obama’s Patriotism

I guess the Republicans have decided there are a couple of silly litmus tests candidates must now pass in order to be qualified for political office.  Of course, these tests only apply to their opponents, not to their own candidates.  How convenient.

Religion was a big one for awhile and now we have the resurrection of patriotism.  With all the problems in the world, I find it amazing that so much attention gets paid to this baloney.

On second thought, I’m not surprised by the diversion.  You see, it isn’t Obama or his surrogates who are trying to change the dialog, is it?  From what I can tell they are trying very hard to stay on message and to make this election about issues.  Not so much for the Republicans.

As an example, I give you the latest from James Inhofe of Oklahoma who claims he isn’t questioning Obama’s patriotism when he asks, “Do you really want to have a guy as commander in chief of this country when you can question whether or not he really loves his country?”

Now what do you think Inhofe’s patriotism test is?  The wearing of a flag lapel pin.  Are the people of Oklahoma impressed by their representation in congress?

Oh, and I guess there is no such litmus test of McCain, his being a POW and all, since he wasn’t wearing a flag lapel pin on Thursday night.

What an insulting argument.
